LUCENA CITY, Quezon — A wanted murder suspect was killed after allegedly exchanging gunfire with police officers serving a warrant of arrest in Laguna on Friday night, July 31, while the two most wanted fugitives in the Calabarzon region were arrested in separate operations early Saturday, Aug. 1.
In a report released on Saturday, the Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) identified the fatality only by his alias, “Roger,” who was killed during an encounter with police in Barangay Magsaysay, San Pedro City, Laguna, around 10:30 p.m. on Friday.
According to police, a team of operatives armed with a warrant of arrest proceeded to Roger’s residence to serve the court order.
Authorities said the suspect allegedly noticed the approaching officers and opened fire but failed to hit any of them. Police returned fire, striking the suspect.
