MANILA, Philippines — Passengers of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) with National ID will be entitled to free rides for every Wednesday of August, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced on Saturday.

According to the LRTA, this is in line with the anniversary of passage of Republic Act No. 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act. The measure was signed into law on August 6, 2018, which mandated the Philippine Statistics Authority to be the implementing agency of the National ID system.
