MANILA, Philippines — Former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., who had just been granted bail in his malversation case over the flood control scandal, has yet to pay the government more than P124 million in civil liabilities from his acquittal in a plunder case.
This was according to Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla, who on Saturday reminded the judiciary and Revilla after the latter posted bail of P1 million and was granted release from detention on Friday by the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division.
“It was included in his judgment of acquittal (in plunder)… and until now, the money has yet to be returned (to the government),” Remulla said on “Executive Session,” his weekly radio show on DZRH.
