Air conditioning systems and elevators at Moto'otua Hospital were affected on Saturday after Friday night's power outage, leaving patients, visitors and staff to cope with warmer conditions and limited access to upper floors.
A visit by the Samoa Observer found several hospital corridors without air conditioning, while elevators were also out of service, forcing patients, visitors and staff to use stairways.
A nurse, who was not authorised to speak publicly, said the disruptions were caused by the previous night's outage.
"Some of the hospital's air conditioning units and elevators automatically shut down after the power outage and required technicians to reset the systems before they could resume normal operation," the nurse said.
Loua Tavita, who was waiting in the pharmacy, said the lack of air conditioning made conditions uncomfortable.
