Huygo Broos, pictured here with Safa boss Danny Jordaan, has called time on his Bafana Bafana career.
Hugo Broos has officially brought the curtain down on his Bafana Bafana tenure after announcing his departure as South Africa’s head coach during an emotional press conference at SAFA House on Friday.
The 74-year-old Belgian, who guided South Africa back to the/ for the first time since 2010, confirmed he will also retire from football, ending a coaching career that has spanned more than four decades.
Broos fought back tears as he addressed the media, bringing months of speculation surrounding his future to an end.
The veteran coach revealed that spending long periods away from his family ultimately influenced his decision not to extend his stay with the national team.
