Russia launched a mass ballistic missile attack on Kyiv early Saturday, killing at least three people and injuring five others as more than 10 explosions shook the Ukrainian capital. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said all five injured residents were hospitalized. The attack caused fires and destruction across the Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts. In the Solomianskyi district, a strike set fire to a six-story non-residential building. Cars also burned in a parking area, while people were trapped inside a five-story residential building after missile debris fell nearby. A fire broke out in the building’s courtyard. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the first and second floors of a residential building partially collapsed, leaving people trapped inside. A car wash also caught fire. Warehouse buildings were burning in the Darnytskyi district, while authorities separately reported a strike on a non-residential site. Missile debris also fell on non-residential property in the Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts. The air-raid alert was lifted at 2:47 a.m., although emergency crews continued searching damaged buildings and responding to fires. The casualty figures remained preliminary and could rise as rescue operations continued.
