NEW YORK, July 31 (UPI) -- Ewan Mitchell says his character Aemond doesn't think of himself as the villain of the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, even though he tried to kill his older brother so he could be crowned king instead.
"It's exciting, challenging as an actor. I never like to judge the character. I want to give him his day in court, so to speak," Mitchell, 29, told reporters in a recent Zoom round-table interview.
"Every character is a hero of their own story and Aemond wholeheartedly believes that he is the hero of his story. He's going to win the war and he's going to do it for the people that he loves at what cost or what cost to his humanity. How far he's prepared to go, the extremes that he's prepared to go, is another thing," the actor added. "But I think Aemond has yet to define his breaking point."
Once Aegon is out of the picture, Aemond tries to get closer to his mother Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and even kisses her romantically at the top of the show's current second season.
