Christine Lampard has joined the This Morning lineup and will provide cover as presenter on the ITV magazine show whilst Looose Women is off air for the summer holidays18:53, 31 Jul 2026Christine Lampard has landed a presenting job on This Morning. The TV star normally anchors Loose Women and has shared the desk with a host of long-serving panellists like Coleen Nolan, Denise Welch and Janet Street-Porter since making her debut in 2016.‌The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, who is famously married to footballer Frank Lampard, also regularly stepped in for Lorraine Kelly on her eponymous chat show for several years. But amid budget cuts at ITV, Lorraine has been cut one hour to just 30 minutes, and, along with Loose Women, now only airs for 30 weeks out of the year instead of 52.‌Both programmes are now off air for the summer, although Good Morning Britain and This Morning are continuing in their usual slots, so Christine has joined a host of others who will provide cover on the magazine show whilst Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard are on their break.‌On Friday, ITV confirmed the news in an Instagram post, in which polaroids of Christine and her new co-host, Craig Doyle, flashed up. Craig will also present with Angela Scanlon at some point. Also in the line-up are Paddy McGuinness and Josie Gibson, Andi Peters and Rochelle Humes. It was also confirmed that Rylan Clark will also present with Josie on some days, whilst Sian Welby and Joel Dommett will present on others.‌Recently, Lorraine, who has been part of ITV for more than 40 years, spoke out about the cuts and how tough they were on her staff.Speaking to Saga magazine when asked how she felt about what happened, Lorraine said: “Really rubbish. A lot of my team got made redundant. It was really hard and harder for them. We were very close-knit, but it’s all about budget. All television shows are in the same boat, we’re not alone.”Article continues belowAnnouncing the changes earlier last year, Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, previously said: “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres."These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.”Like this story?
