Patricia Arquette directs this ‘Parent Trap’ sendup starring Lindsay Lohan and Amy Sedaris to celebrate the first anniversary of the candy brand’s hit fan-inspired snack mashup.

To celebrate a year since The Hershey Company and Mondelēz joined forces to launch Reese’s Oreo, the snack mashup inspired by years of requests from fans to join the famed peanut butter cups with the creme-filled cookie, Hershey’s paired another wacky combination in a new spot starring Lindsay Lohan and Amy Sedaris.

In Two Fated Icons, created by Juxtapose Studios and directed by Patricia Arquette with Jake Wilson, Lohan gamely calls back to her role in The Parent Trap as the proprietor of a “wellness retreat” for twins, charged with helping disagreeable doubles “come together.” She uses the snack to unify one particularly sour set of siblings, played by Sedaris, who fail to find common ground on most things (with the exception of the snack and the disacknowledgement of a third sister).

The spot itself is delightfully unserious, but delivers as a sweet treat for fans of the actresses, with Sedaris especially leaning into her over-the-top comedic chops from her Strangers with Candy days (thanks in part to her co-writing credit with show co-star Paul Dinello).
