Jet fuel prices are climbing again on fears of further conflagration in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia is thought to be preparing a sea and possible ground assault on Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen in an effort to break the group’s chokehold on Red Sea energy exports through the Bab al-Mandeb strait. The group is disrupting heavyweight Saudi Red Sea crude exports heading southbound to Asia. Those volumes have surged since Iran cut off the alternative Strait of Hormuz export route.
