Rainbow Children’s Medicare Limited (RCML) will expanding its operations to Mumbai through an agreement with Fountainhead TCHM HealthcareThe Hyderabad-based hospital chain, it signed a definitive pact was signed with Fountainhead TCHM Healthcare promoted by Susan Veena Fernandes, Vinay Hanamesh Joshi and Allan Mark Pereira, for the development and operation of a 100-bed brownfield women and children’s hospital in Malad, Mumbai. “With a strong pipeline of new hospitals, including our expansion into Mumbai and upcoming facilities in Nellore and Guntur, we are well positioned to reach more families with our specialized care. I am particularly excited about our entry into Mumbai, which presents a significant long-term growth opportunity for Rainbow,’’Ramesh Kancharla, Chairman & Managing Director of Rainbow Children’s Medicare said.The project entails a total estimated investment of approximately ₹90 crore, of which RCML will invest around ₹68 crore, while TCHM will participate as a strategic equity partner by acquiring a 24 per cent stake in Rainbow Women & Children’s Hospital Private Ltd (RWCHPL), with RCML retaining a 76 percent controlling stake. The hospital is expected to commence operations in Q1 FY28, subject to receipt of necessary approvals and completion of development activities.It will serve as a key spoke in Rainbow’s Maharashtra hub-and-spoke network alongside the previously announced 150-bed Pune regional hub scheduled to commence operations in FY29.Rainbow has further strengthened its presence in Andhra Pradesh with the acquisition of a 70-bed Prime Children’s hospital in Nellore1 and a 50-bed brand new hospitals in Guntur1.Commence operationsThe company is on track to commence operations at the Indore hospital during Q3 FY27, marking Rainbow’s entry into another high-growth market in Central India.. Construction is progressing well at the Company’s about 130-bed regional hub hospital in Coimbatore, with operations expected to commence in Q3 FY28.Apart from other expansion projexts, the development of the 125-bed spoke hospital is progressing as planned, with commissioning targeted for Q3 FY28.In the first quater ended June 30, 2026, Rainbow’s net profit increased 16.2 percent at ₹62.5 crore compared top ₹54 crore in the corresponding quarter of the pervious financial year.
