The district-level ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva’ for Viksit Bharat programme was organised by MY Bharat, Anantapur, under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports at the auditorium of SSBN Degree College in Anantapur on Friday (July 31, 2026). The objective of the event was to inspire youth to lead a drug-free life and actively contribute towards building ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.NSS Coordinator, JNTUA, Dr. G. Mamatha; District Youth Officer Isaiah; Managing Committee Member, Indian Red Cross Society, D. Bharath; SSBN Degree College principal Dr. Saritha; Director of Nigama Foundation Vasundhara; MY Bharat Representative Bisathi Bharath, and others attended the event.Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries emphasised that youth are the backbone of the nation and highlighted the harmful effects of substance abuse on individuals, families, society, and national development. They urged young people to stay away from drugs, adopt healthy lifestyles, and become responsible citizens contributing to nation-building.They also called upon the youth to actively spread awareness on drug prevention as part of the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat – Viksit Bharat’ mission.As part of the campaign, a wide range of competitions was organised for young participants, including declamation, story writing, slogan writing, painting, folk dance, folk singing, Nukkad Natak (street play), and short story writing. Youth from across the district participated and showcased their creativity, talent, and commitment to the cause.Winners of various competitions were awarded prizes, while certificates of participation were presented to all participants in recognition of their involvement. The first prize winner in each competition will have the opportunity to represent their district in state-level competitions.The programme concluded with all participants taking the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ pledge, reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free society.The programme witnessed the active participation of Pragathi Padham Youth Association along with MY Bharat volunteers, representatives of youth organisations, NSS volunteers, faculty members, and a large number of young participants, making the event a grand success.
