But a binman has now explained everything you must know about what to do with any rubbish and leftovers once you're done, as many do it wrong, risking creating a fire.‌A UK based binman named Ashley, known online as The No.1 Binman, often takes to social media platforms to share his top tips and tricks to households about their bin collections, including where to put what, and explaining why your local binman might not always collect and empty your various bins.‌In one video, he went on to urge all households to be careful when disposing of disposable barbecues, as not doing it correctly could lead to your bin 'melting', or even cause a fire.‌"Summer holidays, everyone loves a barbie in the garden because no one wants to be cooking indoors," Ashley said at the start of the video.Content cannot be displayed without consentBut the binman went on to urge all households using disposable barbecues, to let them cool down completely before disposing of them in their general waste bin. He said: "Don't do it while it's hot cause you'll melt the bin. It'll melt the rubbish, could cause a fire. Don't do that, alright?"‌According to local council guidelines, the best course of action to safely dispose of a disposable barbecue, is to douse it with water, wait up to 48 hours, and place it in your general household waste bin and get it collected as normal. Never put it in a recycling or public bin while warm. And he went on to tell people to not 'not even bother' trying to recycle parts of it."Don't try and empty the tray out and put that in your recycling. Don't even bother. Alright," he said.Meanwhile, all the leftover food you've cooked on the barbecue, such as burnt pieces, can all go in your food waste bin, even if it's covered in more oil and grease than your normal food - just once again allow it to cool down before you throw it away.‌"Bag it up, put it in there, job done, completed," Ashley said.But something that shocked a lot of viewers was that if you're using disposable plants, they shouldn't be recycled - even if they are made from paper."Yes, they are made of paper, but they still do not go in your recycling bin cause they got the grease and from the food, coleslaw or whatever it may be," Ashley explained, as this can contaminate the rest of your recycling, making the whole load unrecyclable.Article continues below"You're not cleaning them. So they go straight in your general waste as well, not your recycling bin," he explained.
