Emerge Renewables Rajasthan facility is designed to produce high-performance solar glass to support the growing needs of the solar industry.

Emerge Renewables has started production of solar glass at its new facility at Kotputli-Behror in Rajasthan. The commissioning of North India’s first dedicated solar glass manufacturing plant is expected strengthen the domestic solar panel supply chain and reduce dependence on imports.Backed by the 22-year legacy of Alstone Group and the 14-year expertise of Emerge Glass, Emerge Renewables’ glass manufacturing plant has the latest technology to deliver solar glass solutions that meet global quality standards.With a manufacturing capacity of 300 tonnes per day (tpd), 2.5 GW per annum, the facility is designed to produce high-performance solar glass to support the growing needs of the solar industry. The glass thickness ranges from 1.80 mm to 5.00 mm.The new facility of Emerge Renewables will support the growth of solar panel manufacturers with improvement in their efficiency and profitability, due to reduced lead time and less inventory.Located in close proximity to the fastest-growing renewable energy base in Rajasthan, the new plant will be another diversification for the glass company with melting capacity of about 1,000 tpd of glass to produce 210 tpd of Sheet Glass of 1 mm to 10 mm thickness, 210 tpd of Flint Glass bottles and 240 tpd of Colour Glass bottles.As part of its geographical diversification, Emerge Glass has mapped a corporate at Ongole in Andhra Pradesh to address growing demand in South India and plans to move up the value chain, by targeting cosmetic packaging.Sumit Gupta, Managing Director, Emerge Renewables, said the furnace light-up at the new plant marks the beginning of a transformative journey for the company.“We are committed to delivering high-quality solar glass that strengthens India’s renewable ecosystem and contributes to a more sustainable future,” he said.Shailendra Srivastava, Assistant Vice President – Emerge Renewables, said with advanced manufacturing processes and a dedicated focus on quality, the company is ready to serve India’s growing solar industry while meeting global photovoltaic standards.Published on July 31, 2026
