LG says it will invest additional $910m in 200MW data center near Seoul

South Korean conglomerate LG said yesterday that it will invest an additional 1.3 trillion won ($910 million) in a 200MW data center project in Paju, a city around 19 miles (31km) north of Seoul, according to reports by local media.

This more than doubles the 615.6 billion won ($441.7m) committed to the Paju data center project by LG in May 2025.

Plans to build the 73,710 sqm (793,410 sq ft) data center have been in the works since May 2024, when the company announced its intention to purchase real estate, including land and buildings in Paju owned by LG Display.

The conglomerate’s telco wing LG U+ is responsible for developing the campus. It is estimated to be completed by 2027 and will eventually be capable of hosting more than 100,000 servers.
