MALAY, Aklan — Over 50 law enforcement personnel received training on handling improvised explosive devices (IEDs) hosted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and its partner agencies on Boracay Island in this town.
In an audio-visual presentation on Friday during the closing ceremony of the four-day symposium, the PNP noted that the participants were trained on the national security situation and intelligence in 2026; handling bomb threats, hoax devices and suspicious packages; and trends in homemade explosives.

Personnel of the PNP, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Fire Protection and Philippine Coast Guard participated in the symposium, according to PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Martatez Jr. in his keynote speech at the ceremony.
