Athens-listed Optima Bank recorded a 29% increase in its profitability, raising its net profit for the first half of the year to €104.3 million, a performance that is the best in the bank’s history to date.
The management now estimates that the stronger-than-expected growth in operations and the environment of higher interest rates create the conditions for even better performance by the end of the year, revising upward almost all of the key operational targets.
CEO Dimitris Kyparissis said “we expect net profits of over €210 million, an increase in the loan portfolio by approximately €1.35 billion and an increase in deposits of €1.7 billion.”
