PAOK and Panathinaikos are in the third qualifying round of the Europa League and the Conference League respectively, after scoring twice each at home on Thursday – yet that was where their similarities ended.
PAOK scored its second win over Dynamo Kyiv, as after its 3-2 victory in Poland last Thursday it won 2-0 in Toumba to go through on a 5-2 aggregate result.
The Thessaloniki team was always the better side in this second leg, and was also fortunate to have Giannis Konstantelias on a superb night.
PAOK’s brightest star opened the score in first-half injury time, and then added a second three minutes after the interval, practically finishing Dynamo off.
Up next PAOK will face Anderlecht, with the first leg in Greece on August 6 and the return in Belgium a week later.
