All 55 European footballing nations have agreed to boycott the World Cup in protest at Fifa’s plans to sell off a 20 per cent stake in the competition. Uefa’s boycott resolution applies to all Fifa-run competitions across men’s, women’s and youth football.
Anger at the plans has been heightened by Donald Trump’s links to a potential buyout as his son-in-law’s brother Joshua Kushner is potentially a key investor.
