Away from the kitchen and TV shows, chef Tom Kerridge is loved-up with his wife18:31, 30 Jul 2026Updated 18:32, 30 Jul 2026Chef Tom Kerridge has long been a famous face in the British cooking world - but who is his wife?As well as his own culinary success, the chef has embarked on a TV career in recent years, appearing on the likes of Great British Menu, MasterChef and his very own series Tom Kerridge Cooks Italy.Away from the kitchen and TV shows though, Tom is loved-up with his wife Beth. But how many weeks after meeting did she propose? And why does his relationship with their son drive Beth ‘nuts’? Here’s everything you need to know about Tom and Beth’s romance.Tom and Beth engaged weeks after meetingTom first met Beth while on a night out for a friend’s birthday in London back in 1997. He told The Guardian: “We went into Camden, walked into a bar and there was this loud northern woman. She went: ‘You’re Tom. Give me £3 for the stripper.’ That was the first sentence Beth said to me.”The pair hit it off fast, with Tom revealing: “It was like we’d known each other for ages.” Then, six weeks after meeting Beth proposed and popped the question at 1am on a Saturday in Leicester Square after Tom had finished work.Fast forward to 2000 and the pair made things official and got married in an old theatre in north London, followed by hosting “about 200 people in this tiny pub in King’s Cross”.Tom on ‘difficult’ time in his relationshipTom works alongside Beth - who has her own career as a successful and accompanied sculptor - to help manage their successful culinary empires including The Hand & Flowers in Marlow. The pub earned its first Michelin star after just 10 months, before going on to make history with two Michelin stars.Appearing on the Hungry podcast earlier this year, Tom opened up about what it’s been like working with his partner across multiple decades.“It’s really hard. Like, it’s really hard. Anybody who goes into the business…If you live above the space, work with your wife…she’s your restaurant manager and you’re the head chef...” Tom said.He added: “It’s a really difficult starting point, but you can grow from that and you build from that. You have to understand that, you know, when Beth is saying something or I’m saying something, it’s not personal, it’s reactionary to business, but then you have to understand the point where you separate it.”Tom and Beth’s son, AceyTom and Beth are also proud parents to a son named Acey, born in 2015. And over the years, Tom has given an insight into his family life, including Tom occasionally falling out with the youngster. In 2025, life-long Gloucester rugby fan Tom said Acey is already targeting a career in sport. Tom however admitted the pair sharing a lot of the same passions can lead to some tensions at home.Article continues belowWhen asked if his son ‘takes after him’, Tom replied: “Yeah, in a lot of ways, he does massively and it drives my wife nuts because sometimes just like, two of us. And we do fall out quite a lot because we argue about the same thing and it’s almost like having an argument with yourself and then afterwards we both laugh about it.”Watch Tom on Tom Kerridge Cooks... every Thursday at 7:30pm on ITV1
