Abishek Gupta, a 2019 batch IPS officer, has promised to take speedy action against petitions submitted by the public at the District Police Office.Speaking to reporters, he said that all petitions would be acknowledged by the officers concerned. On receipt of the complaints, it would be sent by WhatsApp to the station house officers for necessary inquiry and action.He said the public can call or WhatsApp on 83000 00400 and assured to take swift action. The sub-divisions in the district would further be strengthened by setting up control rooms. This would help in effective coordination and execute action at a faster pace.Similarly, for better surveillance, more CCTV cameras would be installed in places where it was required. The district police would work hard for the peaceful existence of the common man, he said and warned of stern action against violators.Prior to the new posting, Mr Gupta had served as ASP in Tindivanam district, DCP in Tirupur City Police, SPs in Pudukottai and Thoothukudi districts.
