The Gandhi Shilp Bazaar organised jointly by the Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government India, and JSS Mahavidayapeetha, began at JSS Mysore Urban Haat on July 28.The exhibition-cum-sale inaugurated by Managing Director of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC), Mysuru, M.S. Archana will remain open from 10.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day till August 3.A statement here said the expo, which has been organised as part of Varamahalakshmi festival celebrations, features more than 50 artisans and handloom weavers from various States across India, showcasing and selling an extensive range of premium handicrafts and handloom products.Admission is free, and parking facilities will also be provided for visitors, the statement said.“Visitors can explore a wide variety of traditional handloom sarees, garments, intricately carved wooden artefacts, metal crafts, terracotta products, home décor items, and other exquisite handicrafts—all available under one roof.JSS Mysuru Urban Haat has appealed to the people of Mysuru and neighbouring areas to visit the exhibition and “make the most of this opportunity to purchase authentic, high-quality handicraft and handloom products directly from artisans and weavers, especially during the Varamahalakshmi festival shopping season”.The inaugural function was attended among others by Commissioner, Hootagalli City Municipal Council B.N.
