A 10-day khadi utsav of the Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industries Board (KSKVIB) started at the Bharat Scouts and Guides grounds at Lalbagh in Mangaluru on Wednesday.
As many as 66 stalls have come up. Of this, 42 were of khadi sanghas, while the remaining 24 were of village industries units, which have received the funding from the KSKVIB and the Khadi and Village Industries Commission.
Apart from stalls from namely Kolar, Tumakuru, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi, Hubballi, Gadag, Bagalkot districts, there were stalls from Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and a few other North Indian States.
Among the articles on sale include different types of “Modi” kurtas, khadi shirts, dress material, saris, bed spreads and king-sized and single bed ‘razai’.
