The Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project has sponsored a solar power plant to Kudankulam Government Hospital.An official statement said the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) has taken several initiatives under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to provide services in the areas of health, education, infrastructure and environment sustainability to the neighbourhood within 16 Km radius from KKNPP.As part of KKNPP CSR Environment Sustainability Initiative, roof top grid-connected solar power plant with a capacity of 80 KW has been established at Government Hospital, Kudankulam. This facility, costing ₹41.60 lakh was energized, commissioned and dedicated on Thursday by Ashok Bhatia, Site Director, KKNPP in the presence of R. Suresh Kumar, Chief Engineer and Chairman, CSR - KKNPP, Dr. Esaivani, Chief Medical Officer, Government Hospital, Kudankulam and Dr. Geetha, Chief Medical Officer, Hospital Head Quarters, Vallioor.
