A soldier caught on video allegedly kicking and hitting a woman during a scuffle in Balvenie Estate, Elsies River earlier this month, will be facing an investigation by the SANDF Joint Tactical Headquarters in Cape Town, which will determine whether he will undergo disciplinary action.

Police clarified that the incident took place after a resident attempted to stone vehicles during a drug bust where 338 packets of cocaine and 59 mandrax tablets were confiscated.

The SANDF confirmed that the process of the investigation has already been convened.

“The SANDF is aware of the video circulating on social media, which appears to depict an altercation involving a deployed SANDF member and members of the public in Balvenie, Elsies River,” said the SANDF Pretoria office.
