The Central Railway has announced temporary changes in train services affecting passengers travelling to and from Kalaburagi due to non-interlocking (NI) work being undertaken for yard remodelling at KSR Bengaluru railway station.According to a press release issued by the Solapur Division, the Bengaluru Division of South Western Railway will undertake traffic blocks from July 31 and August 1 to August 3 and 4 to facilitate the infrastructure upgrade.As part of the changes, Train No. 22231 Kalaburagi-SMVT Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, commencing its journey on August 1, 2 and 3, will be short-terminated at Yelahanka instead of SMVT Bengaluru.Similarly, Train No. 22232 SMVT Bengaluru-Kalaburagi Vande Bharat Express, commencing its journey on August 1, 2 and 3, will originate from Yelahanka at its scheduled departure time instead of SMVT Bengaluru.The Railways has also cancelled the weekly Bengaluru Cantonment-Kalaburagi service. Train No. 16563 Bengaluru Cantonment-Kalaburagi Weekly Express, scheduled to commence its journey on August 1, and Train No. 16564 Kalaburagi-Bengaluru Cantonment Weekly Express, scheduled to commence on August 2, will remain cancelled.The Railways said the traffic blocks are essential for infrastructure upgradation and to ensure safe operations.
