Samsung Electronics reported revenue of 171.5 trillion won ($118.7 billion) for its full Q2 earnings report, with operating profit totaling 89.5 trillion won ($62.4bn).
Both figures were in line with the company’s forecast released earlier this month.

The quarterly operating profit represents a Year-over-Year (YoY) increase of 1,814 percent, while revenue was up 130 percent from the same period a year earlier. Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ), operating profit was up 56 percent, while revenue was up 28 percent.
Samsung attributed that the vast majority of the growth to its Device Solutions Division, under which the company’s semiconductor, memory, and foundry operations fall. For the second quarter, the segment saw a QoQ sales increase of 56 percent, with the memory business “setting an all-time high for quarterly revenue and operating profit.”
