Samsung Electronics said it's expecting to see a third consecutive quarter of record-breaking profit, with the South Korean chip maker reporting preliminary Q2 operating profit of 89.4 trillion won ($58.4 billion).

This figure represents a Year-on-Year increase of more than 1,800 percent, with the growth for the three-month period of April to June primarily driven by demand for AI memory chips.

Sales for the quarter were 171 trillion won ($113bn), up from 133.9 trillion won ($88.5bn) the previous quarter and more than double the figure posted by the company for Q2 2025.

The forecast comes ahead of Samsung’s full Q2 earnings report, which will be released later this month.
