Like on desktop, Chrome for Android now lets you customize the New Tab Page with a background image or theme.

To set, open the three-dot overflow menu from what Google calls the “homepage” and tap “Customize new tab page” near the bottom. This sheet already lets you control shortcuts, cards, and the Discover feed.

Appearance is the new item today with “Chrome Default” being the Dynamic Color theme. Upload an image opens the system file picker, while Chrome Colors offers nine tri-color options. “Refresh daily” will cycle through all the choices.

Theme Collections is home to Landscapes, Architecture, Earth, Patterns, Illustrations, and Gradients, with each offering 4-5 pictures.

Once you pick an image, the background of your New Tab Page will update, with the rest of the Chrome interface, like the tab switcher, getting similarly themed.
