The National Bank of Ukraine has raised its key policy rate to 15.5%.
NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyy announced the decision at a briefing, Ukrinform reported.
“The NBU Board has decided to raise the rate to 15.5% in view of persistent fundamental price pressures and a sharper acceleration of overall inflation expected by year‑end,” Pyshnyy said.
He noted the increase is aimed at preserving the attractiveness of hryvnia assets, maintaining currency market stability and anchoring inflation expectations, which should allow inflation to return to a downward trajectory toward the 5% target in 2027.
