United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its early Thursday morning military operations on July 30, 2026, targeting sites in Iran had concluded at around 5:00 AM Iran time. The command stated that the operations were carried out in response to an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) missile strike on US forces in Jordan.
In its statement, CENTCOM reported that it had targeted military command centers, missile and drone facilities, coastal defense and surveillance systems, as well as naval capabilities affiliated with the IRGC. The command described the objective of the strikes as “degrading the capabilities of the Islamic Republic and its proxies to threaten US forces, commercial shipping, and neighboring Persian Gulf nations.”
As the strikes began, reports emerged of explosions across Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Fars, and Bushehr provinces, as well as on the islands of Qeshm, Kish, and Abu Musa.
During the attacks, a residential unit in the Chah-Tango neighborhood of Qeshm was struck. Following the completion of debris removal operations, Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences reported the deaths of a father, a mother, and their two-year-old child, along with injuries to two other children.
