A former Administrator General of Independence Students' Hall at the University of Ibadan (UI), Peculiar Adedeji, is facing disciplinary proceedings over allegations that he mismanaged N10 million allocated for the renovation of the hall's football pitch.
SaharaReporters gathered that the university authorities have scheduled a hearing of the allegations with Adedeji expected to appear before the Students' Disciplinary Council (SDC) on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
The development was disclosed by the Hall Warden, Solomon Adekunle Odedokun, during Independence Hall's town hall meeting held on Monday, July 27, where he informed residents of the hall that the matter is currently before the university's disciplinary body.
"Peculiar is having a case with the Students’ Disciplinary Council (SDC) over the mismanagement of the sum of 10 million naira meant for renovation of the hall’s Marcana football pitch. Next week Wednesday is another day for him," Odedokun said, according to UI Union of Campus Journalists.
