Popular Chinese fast-fashion retailer Shein is facing fresh pressure.
Popular Chinese fast-fashion retailer Shein is under scrutiny as its US operations are now the subject of an investigation by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The investigation was disclosed in documents related to the company's planned initial public offering (IPO) in Hong Kong, according to CNBC.
Shein has not disclose what the FTC is investigating but said it is cooperating with the regulator and warned that the outcome could have a material impact on its financial position.
The FTC is the US agency responsible for protecting consumers from unfair or deceptive business practices.
