Juniper Green Energy’s ₹1,800 crore initial public offering opened for subscription on Thursday at a price band of ₹214-225 per share. The issue will close on August 3.The IPO comprises an entirely fresh issue of equity shares. The company’s shares are proposed to be listed on the BSE and NSE on August 6.Anchor bookAhead of the IPO, the company raised ₹539.4 crore from anchor investors, including Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Nippon India Mutual Fund.According to a BSE circular, the company allotted 2.4 crore equity shares to 31 funds at ₹225 per share, the upper end of the price band.The anchor book saw participation from domestic mutual funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds and foreign investors. Key anchor investors included ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, SBI Mutual Fund, WhiteOak Capital, Bajaj Life Insurance, Tata AIG General Insurance Company and HDFC Life Insurance Company.Domestic mutual funds received 1.79 crore equity shares, accounting for 74.79 per cent of the anchor portion, through 24 schemes across nine fund houses.IPO detailsThe company plans to use ₹683.24 crore from the IPO proceeds to repay or prepay certain borrowings. It will also invest ₹728.69 crore in its subsidiaries, Juniper Green Gamma One, Juniper Green Kite and Juniper Green Power Five to help them repay or prepay outstanding loans. The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.Juniper Green Energy develops, builds and operates utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid and battery energy storage projects across India.SBI Securities recommends subscribing to the issue for a long-term investment horizon. The brokerage said the company has a strong presence in WSH and FDRE assets, with growth expected to be driven by project commissioning, battery energy storage system expansion and merchant power opportunities.
