Juniper Green Energy plans to raise ₹1,800 crore through an IPO. The issue, priced at ₹214-225 a share will open for subscription on July 30.The IPO comprises entirely a fresh issue of equity shares, with no offer-for-sale component. Investors can bid for a minimum of 66 equity shares and in multiples thereof.The company plans to use ₹683 crore from the net proceeds to repay certain borrowings. It will also invest ₹729 crore in its subsidiaries - Juniper Green Gamma One, Juniper Green Kite and Juniper Green Power Five - to enable them to repay their outstanding debt. The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes. Its consolidated outstanding fund-based borrowings stood at ₹13,266 crore as of June-end.IPO valuationAt the upper end of the Juniper Green Energy IPO price band, the company is expected to command a post-listing market capitalisation of around ₹12,800 crore.The company will offer a discount of ₹21 per equity share to eligible employees bidding in the employee reservation portion.The company has appointed ICICI Securities, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets (India), JM Financial and Kotak Mahindra Capital Company as the Book Running Lead Managers to the issue.The Gurugram-based company claims to be among the top 10 largest renewable independent power producers in India. As of June, it had expanded its portfolio to 50 projects with a total capacity of 7,910.20 MW (10,247.06 MWp), a sharp increase from its first solar project with a capacity of 100 MW commissioned in March 2020.Of the 50 projects, 20 are operational with a capacity of 1,794.80 MW, while 19 contracted projects under construction have a capacity of 2,875.40 MW. Another 11 awarded projects under construction have a combined capacity of 3,240 MW.Backed by Singapore-based AT Capital Group, the company has expanded its renewable energy portfolio with projects including India’s first merchant 100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Rajasthan.
