The Delhi University on Wednesday announced that it would open a mid-entry round for undergraduate (UG) candidates who could not complete the admission process earlier, those who made errors in subject mapping or those whose documents were found to be invalid. According to a notice issued by the office of the Dean, Admissions, candidates will have the option to apply for the mid-entry round from August 3 to 5 by paying a fee of ₹1,000. “Candidates who have appeared for the Class 12 compartment examination of CBSE are advised to apply in the mid-entry window and complete Phase-I of registration to safeguard their academic interests,” the notice read.As of Wednesday evening, 71,342 candidates confirmed their UG admissions against 71,624 seats this year, a university official said, adding that additional seats are allocated every year as many students withdraw from the process midway. “Allocations under the Children of Wards (CW), Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) and Sports quotas will be announced on August 9,” the official said.Meanwhile, the third allocation round will be announced on August 8. The university notice stated that allocations in the third round, which would include mid-entry candidates, would be based on the data available by August 5. “The minimum allocation score and ranks in the third round would have no relation to those of the earlier rounds.
