xAI just dropped Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0, an upgraded real-time voice AI model that promises sharper transcription accuracy, improved intelligence, and smoother conversational flow. The announcement landed on July 29, less than three months after the original Think Fast 1.0 debuted in April 2026.

What’s actually under the hood

The core architecture behind Grok Voice does something that sounds simple but is technically brutal: it listens, reasons, and speaks simultaneously. No waiting for your turn, no awkward pauses while the model processes. Sub-second latency, running in real time.

Think Fast 2.0 supports more than 25 languages and is built to handle noisy environments and varied accents.

The predecessor, Think Fast 1.0, scored 67.3% on the Tau-voice Bench benchmark when it launched in April. For context, that beat Gemini 3.1 Flash Live and GPT Realtime, which scored 66% and 36% respectively on airline itinerary change tasks.
