A six-year-old boy required specialised hospital treatment after being mauled by a stray dog while playing in a park in the central city of Volos, state ERT television reported Wednesday.
The child suffered severe ear injuries and was taken by ambulance to Athens where he was due to undergo surgery at a pediatric hospital.
ERT said the boy’s mother was also bitten and scratched trying to get the dog off her son. The animal was finally driven off by bystanders.
