NewsUK NewsDangerous dogsArmed police and other emergency services rushed to a property in Barrie Way, Bolton, following reports of a dog attack with three people rushed to hospital19:50, 29 Jul 2026Updated 20:00, 29 Jul 2026Three people have been rushed to hospital following a suspected by an "XL-bully type dog".‌Police said they were called just before 3:30pm today to reports of a dog bite at an address in Barrie Way, Bolton.‌An air ambulance landed at Hall i' Th' Wood, a manor house in Bolton now used as a museum, with paramedics attending the scene alongside police dog units and armed officers.‌The force confirmed that three people were taken to hospital by ambulance and that a dog had been seized, reported by witnesses to be an "XL-bully type".‌Armed police were seen going into the house, alongside a dog handler who removed the animal from the house and placed it in an animal transport van.GMP said that enquiries were ongoing with no arrests made, reported the Manchester Evening News.In a full statement a spokesperson said: "Officers were called just before 3.30pm on Wednesday 29 July 2026 to a report of a dog bite at an address on Barrie Way in Bolton.Article continues below"Emergency services attended and three people have been taken by ambulance to hospital.
