The Health Ministry and Airbnb announced on Tuesday the extension of the online short-stay platform’s “medical stays: program to a number of Greek islands, to accommodate doctors and nurses and their families, free of charge, moving to Santorini, Paros, Ios (pictured), Rhodes or Tinos to staff the local healthcare units.
This pilot program will start operating in the coming days and last until early September.
The program is run by Airbnb’s nonprofit organization, which is set up for supplying accommodations in emergencies. The ‘medical stays’ program is implemented in 10 countries.
