July 29 (UPI) -- A Welsh library received an unusual visit from a man who arrived to return a pair of books his grandfather had checked out 116 years earlier.
Conwy Libraries said on social media that the man, identified as Mr. O'Sullivan, visited the Llanrwst Library recently to return two books his grandfather, Walter Griffith Owen, had borrowed from what was then the Llanrwst Public Library and Reading Room in 1910.
The post said Owen had served in both World Wars and was stationed in Conwy during World War II.
"Our staff were so excited to handle the books and to meet Mr. O'Sullivan for a photograph, and to be involved in their family story," the post said.
