Google has renamed NotebookLM as Gemini Notebook, expanding the research and analysis product with code execution inside notebooks and deeper connections to the Gemini app and Google Search. The product remains standalone, but the change positions it more directly within Google’s Gemini portfolio and gives eligible users new ways to move work across Google’s AI products.
According to Google’s official Gemini Notebook announcement, the upgrade includes a secure cloud computer that can run code within notebooks. Google is initially making the updated experience available to Google AI Ultra users and Workspace business customers with AI Ultra Access and AI Expanded Access. A web rollout for all Pro users is planned in the coming weeks.
The announcement is more substantial than a branding update. Gemini Notebook combines a familiar notebook-based workflow with computation and syncing across related Gemini surfaces. For users who collect source material, build analyses and turn findings into shareable outputs, the practical question is how these components work together as the rollout expands.

The previous NotebookLM brand is now Gemini Notebook. Google says the product is still a standalone service, while also doing more across the Google ecosystem.
