Pastor Bert Pretorius, President of SACOFF, urges all eligible South Africans to register for the November 4 local government elections, emphasising that voter registration is a vital act of responsible citizenship.
The President of the South African Community of Faith-Based Fraternals & Federations (SACOFF), Pastor Bert Pretorius, has joined the call by other leaders of society for all eligible South Africans to make use of the opportunity to register to vote in the November 4 local government elections.
“As Christians, we believe that prayer is our first response, but faithful stewardship also calls us to act responsibly with the opportunities God places before us,” said Pretorius in a statement.
He said over the coming weeks his Pretoria-based organisation representing over 25,000 churches nationwide will be assisting its members, particularly young adults, to register online through the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) portal.
“Registering to vote is not about choosing a political party today. It is about preserving your opportunity to make a prayerful, informed decision when the time comes. Registering simply ensures that your name appears on the voters' roll and that you can participate in shaping the future of your local community.
