Dragonfly Capital, one of crypto’s most prominent venture firms, transferred roughly $2 million worth of APEX tokens to the Bybit exchange on July 29. The move was flagged by on-chain analytics platform Arkham and immediately caught the attention of market watchers looking for signs of institutional selling.
Those APEX tokens had only been unlocked about two weeks before the transfer.
What the on-chain data shows
At the time of the transfer, APEX was Dragonfly’s third-largest holding, sitting behind LIT and BGB in their publicly tracked wallet portfolio.
Dragonfly was among the earliest institutional backers of ApeX Protocol, participating in the project’s first funding round alongside Tiger Global and Jump Trading. The firm lists ApeX Protocol as a portfolio company to this day.
