Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber says Home Affairs disputes allegations raised in Chidimma Adetshina’s court challenge, insisting the department does not take arbitrary action and respects the right to approach courts
Home Affairs Minister Dr Leon Schreiber says the department is opposing the legal challenge brought by former Miss South Africa finalist Chidimma Adetshina, but insists that the matter demonstrates that individuals have the right to approach the courts and challenge government decisions.
Speaking on Newzroom Afrika, Schreiber said he could not comment in detail on the matter because it was currently before court.
“I don't want to get into a live court dispute,” Schreiber said.
“Of course, we as Home Affairs are opposing that case, and we are making our submissions through that particular process.”
