A MyCiTi bus caught fire at the station in Killarney.
MyCiTi buses continue to serve Killarney station following Monday morning’s fire, according to the City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate.
On Monday morning, a fire broke out on an 18m MyCiTi bus near the intersection of Potsdam Road and Silverstone Road at the Killarney MyCiTi station. No one was injured in the incident.
An investigation was launched right away to establish what caused the incident.
An operational assessment conducted by the City found that the red bus lanes were clear of debris, allowing passengers to safely board and disembark at the station’s Potsdam Road entrance.
