ISKCON Vijayawada, through its humanitarian arm, the Annamrita Foundation, on Wednesday inaugurated a Food for Life canteen at the New Government General Hospital near Ramavarappadu Ring Road, marking Sri Vyas Purnima with the launch of a free meal service for patients’ attendants and the underprivileged.The canteen has been set up with financial assistance from the Bank of India Social Foundation under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. It aims to provide free, nutritious and sanctified meals (prasadam) to caregivers, hospital visitors and economically weaker sections visiting the hospital.The inauguration was attended by Balram Govind Das, Temple Commander of ISKCON Vijayawada, Dr. Padmavati and Dr. Surya Manga Devi of the Government General Hospital, V.
