ISKCON will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to patients at the Government Wenlock Hospital here from June 1, according to Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Gundu Rao.ISKCON has been providing food to patients at Bengaluru’s K.C. General Hospital, Jayanagar General Hospital, and C.V. Raman General Hospital since August, 2025, he said.Speaking at a function organised at the Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall in Mangaluru on Friday to lay the foundation stone for various development projects to be taken up at the Government Wenlock Hospital, Mr. Rao said ISKCON had been providing good food to patients in government hospitals in Bengaluru. “We want to implement this service in Hubli-Dharwad as well,” he said.When asked about the need for fish and eggs for patients, the Minister said ISKCON will provide nutritious food to patients, as prescribed by doctors. “This matter has been discussed. With the supply of nutritious food by ISKCON, this will be a non-issue in the coming days,” he said.So far, the hospital has been providing food daily to an average of 700 patients. After many days of providing eggs and fish, it moved to vegetarian food in 2020. Two social organisations are providing lunch and dinner to patient caregivers at the hospital.Meanwhile, the Government Lady Goschen Maternity Hospital continues to provide fish to lactating and other women admitted to the hospital for five days a week. Vegetarian food is given on Friday, while egg is provided on Sunday. The doctors said the food provided at the hospital meets the needs of patients who are anemic and have other deficiencies.
