The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that its naval forces had targeted and brought to a halt three oil tankers traveling through what it called an “unsafe and illegal route.”
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 29, the IRGC Navy stated:
“Hours ago, three non-compliant oil tankers that ignored our warnings and continued navigating along an unsafe and illegal route were struck and stopped.”
Without providing specific details regarding the identity or nationality of the vessels, the exact location of the incident, or the extent of the damage, the IRGC added a warning:
“Unlawful interventions and orders by the U.S. military to vessels in the region will not remain unanswered.”
