Donald Trump is a man who rarely tires of the sound of his own voice, and assumes that everyone else feels the same way.
His performance on Tuesday at the funeral service of his close friend and ally, the late Senator Lindsey Graham, was unconventional, to say the least.
Typically, the occasion calls for a solemn, heartfelt tribute focused on the departed. Instead, it at times seemed as though the President thought he’d been called upon to deliver a roast of his former golfing partner, who died suddenly from an aortic tear earlier this month.

Sticking with tradition, Trump said that “virtually everyone, Republican or Democrat, liked Lindsey” – but was then unable to stop himself adding: “Not everybody. But it sounds good.”
